  ["content"] => string(3837) "<p>On 27 September 2024, the Rwanda Ministry of Health announced the confirmation of Marburg virus disease (MVD). A&nbsp;total of 26 confirmed cases, including eight deaths (CFR: 31%), have been reported. Blood samples taken from people showing symptoms were tested by real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) at the National Reference Laboratory of the Rwanda Biomedical Center and were positive for Marburg virus.</p><p style="text-align: center;"><strong><img class="new_ueditor_box_img" src="/Public/Uploads/ueditor/upload/image/20241012/1728710998411573.jpg" title="" alt="微信图片_20241012102402 (1).jpg" width="695" height="927" style="width: 695px; height: auto;"/></strong></p><p><strong>About Marburg Virus Disease (MVD)</strong></p><p>Marburg virus disease (MVD), formerly known as Marburg haemorrhagic fever, is a severe, often fatal illness in humans.&nbsp;The average MVD case fatality rate is around 50%. Case fatality rates have varied from 24% to 88% in past outbreaks.&nbsp;There are currently no approved vaccines or antiviral treatments for MVD, but a range of vaccines and drug therapies are under development.</p><p><strong>Transmission of Marburg Virus</strong></p><p>Marburg virus can spread through human-to-human transmission via direct contact (through broken skin or mucous membranes) with the blood, secretions, organs or other bodily fluids of infected people, and with surfaces and materials (e.g. bedding, clothing) contaminated with these fluids.</p><p><strong>Symptoms of Marburg Virus Disease</strong></p><p>The incubation period (interval from infection to onset of symptoms) varies from 2 to 21 days.&nbsp;MVD begins abruptly, with high fever, severe headache and severe malaise. Muscle aches and pains are a common feature. From day 5 of the disease, patients may develop haemorrhagic manifestations, including fresh blood in vomitus and faeces, bleeding from the nose, gums, and vagina. In fatal cases, death occurs most often between 8 and 9 days after symptom onset, usually preceded by severe blood loss and shock.</p><p><strong>Diagnosis of MVD</strong></p><p>Diagnosing MVD can be challenging due to symptom overlap with other diseases like malaria, typhoid fever, and other viral haemorrhagic fevers. Often termed the &quot;energy source&quot; of cells, it is a nucleotide helping the human body in various functions. Mostly, it is used during muscle contraction, nerve impulse propagation, and chemical synthesis. An enzyme ATP synthase produces ATP in cells<sup>[2]</sup>.</p><p>The Adenosine Triphosphate test is used for preventing viral infections in the healthcare and food sectors. Since ATP is found in every living organism, its presence indicates if there is any biological material present on a surface. As time passes, bacteria, fungi, and other microorganisms multiply on the surface of food, making it unsafe for consumption.</p><p>Due to certain environmental conditions, pH, and temperature levels, these pathogens continue to grow. For instance, bacteria grow in huge numbers at 37 °C, which is the room temperature in many regions. That’s why it is the first microbe to be grown on food.</p><p>Here are some of the most common foodborne pathogens:</p><p><strong>1. Salmonella</strong></p><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li><p><strong>Potential Period:</strong> Patients get symptoms within 8 to 72 hours after exposure<sup>[3]</sup>.</p></li><li><p><strong>Potential Risks:</strong> Salmonella&nbsp;causes salmonellosis or salmonella infection, leading to upset stomach, diarrhea, fever, and pain.</p></li><li><p><strong>Infectious Dose:&nbsp;</strong>103&nbsp;bacilli (non-typhoidal) and &nbsp;105&nbsp;bacilli (enteric)<sup>[4]</sup>.</p></li></ul><p><strong>2. Listeria Monocytogenes</strong></p><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li><p><strong>Potential Period: </strong>Symptoms appear after a few hours, or it may take 2-3 days.</p></li><li><p><strong>Potential Risks: </strong>Causes listeriosis, leading to muscle aches, nausea, stiffness in the neck, headaches, and stomach pain.</p></li><li><p><strong>Infectious Dose:</strong> 10 to 100 million CFU(healthy hosts), and 0.1 to 10 million CFU(&nbsp;individuals at high risk of infection)<sup>[5]</sup>.</p></li></ul><p><strong>3. Vibrio Parahaemolyticus</strong></p><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li><p><strong>Potential Period:</strong> Symptoms typically appear 6 hours to 4 days after ingestion<sup>[6]</sup>.</p></li><li><p><strong>Potential Risks:</strong> It is usually caused by eating contaminated seafood. The disease causes watery diarrhea, often with abdominal cramping, nausea, vomiting, fever, and chills.</p></li><li><p><strong>Infectious Dose:</strong> 107 to 108 organisms<sup>[7]</sup></p></li></ul><p><strong>4. Bacillus Cereus</strong></p><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li><p><strong>Potential Period:</strong> It usually takes 1-6 hours after ingestion to show symptoms<sup>[8]</sup>.</p></li><li><p><strong>Potential Risks:</strong>&nbsp;Causes nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps and diarrhea.</p></li><li><p><strong>Infectious Dose:</strong> 104-109&nbsp;cells per gram of food(diarrheal type) and105-108&nbsp;cells per gram of food(emetic type)<sup> [9]</sup>.</p></li></ul><p><strong>5. Clostridium Botulinum</strong></p><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li><p><strong>Potential Period:</strong> Symptoms generally appear 12-36 hours after exposure.</p></li><li><p><strong>Potential Risks: </strong>Causes botulism, a rare but serious illness that can lead to marked fatigue, weakness, and vertigo, usually followed by blurred vision, dry mouth, and difficulty in swallowing and speaking. This innovative system utilizes cutting-edge bioluminescence technology to provide rapid and reliable detection of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), a key indicator of cleanliness in food safety management.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Background on ATP Detection</strong></p><p style="text-align: center;"><strong><img class="new_ueditor_box_img" src="/Public/Uploads/ueditor/upload/image/20240929/1727581064756653.png" title="" alt="1.png" width="459" height="343" style="width: 459px; height: auto;"/></strong></p><p>ATP is a ubiquitous organic compound found in all biological materials, including microorganisms and food residues. The measurement of ATP on surfaces can be effectively conducted through luciferase-based luminometer assays, which produce relative light units (RLUs). Low RLU readings indicate effective cleaning, while high readings necessitate further cleaning efforts to ensure hygiene standards are met.</p><p><strong><br/></strong></p><p><strong>Tianlong’s&nbsp;ATP Hygiene Monitoring System</strong></p><p>The Biolum Portable ATP Hygiene Monitoring System produced by Tianlong provides a bioluminescence assay for monitoring hygiene and cleanliness standards when used with ATP Test Swabs (e.g., ATP QuickSwab). Our ATP swabs are pen-sized sampling device that contain recombinant luciferase reagent for detecting the amount of ATP on the basis of admitted fluorescence and to generate visualized results in the form of relative light units (RLUs).</p><p style="text-align: center;"><img class="new_ueditor_box_img" src="/Public/Uploads/ueditor/upload/image/20240929/1727581794315740.png" title="" alt="aaaaa.png"/></p><p>Combined with the testing device, Tianlong Biolum Portable ATP Hygiene Monitoring System is sensitive enough to detect ATP in concentration as low as 10-16&nbsp;mol within 10 seconds. Moreover, it shows good linearity and sensitivity both in pure analyte studies and ATP from and in presence of food and microbial spoilage.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Validation&nbsp;from Independent Laboratory Studies</strong></p><p>To objectively validate the performance of the Tianlong system, independent laboratory studies were conducted.</p><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li><p>Methods of validation</p></li></ul><p>An independent laboratory study was conducted with evaluation of two matrices for stainless steel surface: sweetened yogurt residue and doughnut residue. Prior to application of the matrix, the stainless steel was sanitized by using a UV lamp for 20 minutes, and then cleaned with a 10% Contrad 70 cleaning solution in water followed by a rinse with sterile water. The surface was then washed with 70% isopropanol and allowed to air dry.</p><p>For each matrix, 10 replicates were evaluated at the following levels: &lt;10, 10-30, 30-100, 100-300, and 300-1000 RLUs. Each contamination level was homogenized by stomaching for 2 minutes and then spread over a 4”x 4”stainless steel surface area. For the blank level (&lt;10 RLU), an aliquot of sterile water was spread over a 4”x 4”surface area. Regions to be measured allowed to dry for 5 minutes after surface contamination for the wet sampling evaluation, and 1 hour after surface contamination for the dry sampling evaluation. The RLUs were calculated and reported for each level for both sampling times for both matrices.</p><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li><p>Results&nbsp;Demonstrate Consistency and Accuracy</p></li></ul><p>For the matrix study, all replicates evaluated were within the target RLU levels for both matrices (i.e., sweetened yogurt residue and doughnut residue) and for both wet and dry sampling (Figure 1 &amp; 2).</p><p style="text-align: center;"><img class="new_ueditor_box_img" src="/Public/Uploads/ueditor/upload/image/20240929/1727581336484522.png" title="" alt="ddd.png"/></p><p>For each targeted RLU levels, the box and whiskers in the box-plot for each matrix showed compact distribution, indicating highly consistent results across tests, which was greatly benefit from the testing accuracy and stability of our products. It is also worth noting that the detection performance of our products on dry samples was as good as that on wet samples, enabling their flexible application in a variety of production practice scenarios without performance degradation.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Conclusion</strong></p><p>The AOAC certification highlights the exceptional quality and reliability of Tianlong&#39;s Biolum Portable ATP Hygiene Monitoring System.
